2003 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 4.5 12.9
2004 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 4.5 12.9
2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible 4.5 12.9

Power numbers in all those cars have increased over time to give them more performance.. yet we are still dealing with a STi with 250-300HP stock.. and it keeps getting heavier and heavier.

STi needs to drop 4-500 lbs and pickup 100HP. In the mid to late 90's a stock Sti would hang with most of those cars.. not anymore though.... and certainly not from a roll.

You are sooooo.... dead on man.

The 2.5 should not be the top of the line engine choice in the lineup. The 3.5 needs to be tubocharged.
Say a engine lineup **turbocharged**for the Impreza line something like this......

2.5T..........260/260
2.5T STI....320/320
3.5T STI....385/385

With the prices Subaru is now charging they had better step up to the plate powerwise.
They are really missing the boat right now
Hopefully with the new platform Ins rates go down, I can get a 07 Vette insured for almost 400 less per year.....
For full coverage 100/300 plus medical, rental, & towing 100 ded. only runs me 815yr
As soon as I found what the STI was going to run me it was out of the running

OK true BUT Other then the BMWs and the NEW ZO6, the other cars suck!
-Chevrolet Camaro...straight line power thats it..and its really shitty quality.
-Earlier ZO6...yea nice cars...but still sucked...expensive and plastic.
-Vipers....unless they are all modded they suck. plus too expensive.
-Mustang Gt...come on gt's are a joke. new ones are nice but everyone has a fuc king mustang gt. and probably red
-Cobras nice cars...for a straight line. and still cheap plastic look of a gt.
-new gt500 awesome car but also like 50-60K bucks.

You dont buy an STI or a WRX for just power...
its for AWD great handling,
prestige,
reliability,
nice interior ( not plastic rent a car look like most of the cars above), stock boosted engine which can handle a good amount when upgraded.
you dont see sti's everywhere you go, unlike bmw's(which most look the same to the average newb) and camaro's and mustangs. Corvettes are also everywhere and all owned by middle age douche bags who they they own the road..same with vipers.

Why not get an SRT-4....they are SOOOO fast lol

this is all IMO so u can disagree but i think STIs are great for the money.
now M3's and zo6's those are awesome too...just when i see one...its like every JOE has one (or one that looks like one...3 series or normal vette) and i like to have a car that people say 'thats different' or 'i dont see those much'. IDK....w/e lol
to each his own.

with all the threads I read about subbie trannies, I think they need to work out a better tranny setup that can handle the extra power and not cost thousands of dollars

yea all i know of is the problem with 02-05 WRX tranny. the STI tranny is suppose to be bulletproof and really strong for a 6speed. new 06 wrx tranny is better too. what i have heard and read not from experience.

i have an 02 and the tranny isnt that bad. its all in the driver. you cant slam gears and expect it to last for ever. im on 90K miles and just now i am upgrading the clutch and flyweel..as far as the rest of the tranny well it can prob hold up to 300whp pushing it to its limit. but i wont try it...i am planning on getting an sti soon! or an evo!

Not that I have the funds to do so by any means but even the 07 Z06 would carry a lower yearly premium......that is a 80k car that would be cheaper by 268.00 per year

+1 on the sti or evo.

I plan on getting either one in march. Most likely the sti though. It just looks better IMO.Plus its a helluva lot more reliable.

same here, im leaning toward the sti. i just have the dark side in me wanting an evo. lol but sti's sound better too and more reliable too. so we will see i have to test drive both before i make any decisions.

They keep making it uglier... that is my main concern.
