I could always throw the stock downpipe on in about an hour tops.

Excellent trade in is: $12,950
Good private party is: $14,610

I'd be happy with 14k haha.

But im most likely going tomorrow.I doubt they have anyone that knows subys at all so im just going to leave my catless downpipe on.
Got 13500 for my 05 with 60k miles.

i've taken about 3 different cars to carmax and they always offered me way less than kbb and what any dealer was willing to give me for it.
they even try to sell me a 06 sti with 5k miles for 32k over a year ago . i would just stay away from them.

now where's my rep!?

this quarter's average book on an 03 wrx is $12,000... expect about $11,000 ish from car max, depending on the miles and condition.

remember, KBB's trade value is calculated with a discount. for example, the $12,950 they show on the internet is a trade allowance, which also includes a discount off whatever car you are looking at.

in conclusion, in real money it is worth around $12,000, which is why it will retail for around $14,500. remember, a retail dealer makes margin by selling something for "more" than what its value is.... get it?

sell it private party (retail it yourself) and you will make a couple of extra grand

hope that helps

.. yea, i just started in retail a few years ago and it has been a neat process.

just remember, dealers buy at wholesale and sell for retail. they inflate your trade allowance by adding the "discount" off list to it. they need to, so that the lenders will write it.

i looked up my 06' STi... wholesale is only $24,500 on it. i was OTD at around $34,000 18 months ago. goes to show you how fast you can get below water if you don't pay extra on the payments or put some money down. don't ever trade up-side-down or you will be tanked for a long time.
