Turbo swap, what else do i need?
So do you think I should pick up some extra banjo bolts and washers then just to make sure? I have Royal Purple synthetic 10w-40 in right now but I spoke with Jerry at Deadbolt and he told me to run a 10-30 or 40 conventional for the break-in. Also, I plan on pulling the ignition fuse #11 and cranking the car for 15 seconds 3 or 4 times and then starting it and letting it idle for 20 minutes before driving it. Does this sound like a good way to break-in my new turbo?
Yes make sure you pull the fuse and let the turbo prime up with out it cranking over. You are supposed to do that. Just crank the engine until the oil pressure light goes off you don't have to count or anything
personally I would disable fuel by: unclipping the injectors, pulling the fuel pump relay, disconnect the fuel pump controller or pull the fuse...washing down the cylinders with fuel is bad joo joo...
Well I did the swap yesterday and it took about 5 hours start to finish. Everything went pretty smooth except for that oil line on the bottom, it was a pain to get it on but other than that it was good. How long should I keep it out of boost before I get on it? I'm thinking about 200 miles but not 100% sure.
