Default weird stuff happening check engine, cruise control light

So i get out the store and start to drive and my car (2006 WRX TR) has a check engine light, and the cruise control annunciator is flashing at me? Wondered if anyone's heard of this before. I've never done anything to this car, not even change the oil "Reeves and Masetro have" which is doesn't matter anyways... So it is completly under warranty. I'am just wondering if i should be driving it or not?

ya thats normal. when you throw a code your check engine light and cruise light flashes. just go down to the dealer and have them check the code.

do you have any mods on the car ? the way you can determine if you should be driving the car is if the CEL is flashing, if its a solid CEL it is ok to drive. it is very normal to see the CRUISE light flashing. i think subaru did that to get your attention to notice the CEL.

you can take it down to any auto parts store and they can tell you the code for free also.

The Check engine light is solid. Nope, no mods at all! I'am sure it is some kind of defective sensor. I'll probally do a visual inspection and see if i see something obvious first.

If you havent touched the car just take it to the dealer, problem solved.

Check your gas cap? If its loose it can cause a CEL. If its that, it'll at least save you a trip to the dealership.

Gas Cap check. I'll go to Reeves Tuesday, hopefully. If had been a gas cap, i would have had to say it was something else. My credibility would have been shot. I troubleshoot Aircraft Avionics, Data Bus lines, and Autopilot all day, and i could find out my gas cap wasn't on. That would have sucked Really though, the gas cap was tight, i even re-tightened it. I honestly never heard of a gas cap loose causing a CEL. Maybee it's a bad gas cap sensor though?

if your gas cap wasnt fully tightened your gas tank wouldnt be able to pressurize and the pressure sensor would notice, and your car would throw a CEL..

best thing you can do is just take the car straight to the dealership... thats why you pay the extra money for it.
