quite nice...helped a few guys with VW/subies before...
what are you power goals and what kind of powerband do you want?
Just to let you know you have hydraulic lifters in the good old ver 3...the RA's could see 8200 rpm though...
also what are you planning on running for EM? I highly suggest AEM universal or for that motor I can probably get you a plug and play Hydra Nemisis. I'd have to call Andrew to be sure he has the boards in stock. Both are great EM's but the hydra would be more user friendly and much easier to set up.
To save money and get the build going, you can use factory WRX/STi parts...exhaust manifold, uppipe, turbo...

Yeah I am definately on a budget...most people tell me that this isnt the swap for me being on a budget...I say the heck with them, it just might take me a little longer!

As for EM, I am not sure...right now I am trying to locate a turbo, up-pipe, and down pipe, IC, and Radiator... AC is a thought...but I have no clue what that would take (would be nice though) I was think of going TD04 since it is much more reasonable in cost! Just dont know if it will be too small.

Thanks for the reps and compliments...I may be on a budget...but I cant wait to get this thing going.

ok easiest things...get it running on a factory ECU but you will have to buy a maf which might be a junkyard part from an old NA subie (I can double check with a few old JDM subaru guys I know).
Pick up a wrx/sti manifold (same thing), STi uppipe or gut a wrx uppipe, get a td04 but a VF39 (factory sti) would be much better. For IC just get a used WRX one.
Downpipe will need to be custom and would be easiest as a dump tube. Either that or make your own manifold/uppipe and down pipe and plumb the turbo in the rear of the car/front of the motor. Many subie motored sand rails do it this way.
Radiator will probably be easier doing one off...how do you plan on running it? (location )

Check nasioc and you can find cheap factory parts...

AC would require custom AC lines for starters.

so you are going to run a fmic? and front mount radiator...might want to try and source some used 911 radiators...and put the fmic right in between the two radiators...

Yeah it will be front mount and I will need to measure the width to see what size I can fit up there.

As for the tranny, the engine came with an adapter for a porsche 930 tranny...could be a technical swap, but it will take all the power I can put to it, so I think it is definately a good idea. Not to mention buying another adapter for a different tranny would be fairly expensive...and also the tranny would not be as strong as the 930.
