well im basicly doing what jeff did! 1-4 PPG syncro striaght cut. $4800 later... ill be happy.

im gonna be pulling it soon, once jeff hooks me up with the plat form and tranny jack.

ill be sending it in to andrewtech in about 3 weeks.

I think my tune for Saturday may be cancelled (not confirmed but he is parting out his car) so I might be able to help you pull it then.



and the STI swap can be done on the cheap if you're willing to wait around to find the absolute cheapest parts as soon as they go on sale. Unfortunately, when you have a failure that kills your DD you choose the best solution at the moment. I know when mine went I couldnt find any 6MT's for sale...not even the JDM Importer from Canada. Even then you have a used tranny of unknown origin and history. At least with an Andrewtech box, you have a fresh rebuild with new syncros (if requested).

Very true. Ive been following the 6speed market for a couple months now and it seems they come in waves. There are 2 on eBay now; there were 7 a few weeks ago. Looking back, I wasnt clear in stating that the 6MT option was not the best for the OP given his time crunch. I did want to correct those stating that a built 5MT is cheaper, though. Breaking the box on your DD definitely puts you in a tight spot, as no good solution is going to be cheap.
