Default Bov's:Good or bad?

alright I've been reading a lot lately about bov's and I've mainly been reading two different things.

1)it doesn't do any harm to the engine at all.no blow off valve does.it doesn't cause surging,stalling,lean/rich problems, idle problems nothing.

and

2)it causes major damage to the engine.especially the full atmospheric blow off valves.I remember reading somewhere that it messes with your turbo to and your going to have to rebuild it after 15k miles.I've also read that it can mess with your idle and cause stalling.

now which is true?I used to believe #2 that's why I've never thought about installing one.but now that I've been reading more I'm not so sure.

True:
Staling,hesitation,worse gas milage,idle problems,lean/rich cond.

I havnt heard about the engine rebuild one

Your car is going to run better if its 100% recirc. its been proven to many times.

+1 for full recir. I have had both and can tell you it does make a difference. So unless you are going to get an EWG setup...stick with the full recirc. bov or at least a 50/50 worx or something like that.

I have been using a crushed stock wrx bov targeting 21psi and have had no problems.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a 100% recirculating bov the same as a bypass valve?I mean it does the same exact thing.

also I might be purchasing this TurboXS WS-RBV - Blow-Off Valves/Bypass Valves in the next few weeks and my question is.does it give the pshhh sound?...just for shits and giggles

get an HKS with the recirc fiting. Look, ive had an hks ssqv on my car for 2 years and 34K miles, not one issue.

ALSO, it depends on what your future plans are. IF you plan on going fmic and big turbo and all the dodads, then a atmospheric bov will do wonders.

Forget it, its up to you man. Buy what you want. If you like the sound, go for it. I've loved mine since the day i got it. No problems
