just get a small little muffler put on the dump tube. routing into the DP gives you no power gains from the EWG. i personally love the sound, but i got a spring stiff enough to where it doesnt open if i dont want it to.

routing into the downpipe will have no ill effect if done properly

no matter how you do it, itll increase turbulence, turbulence creates back-pressure, back-pressure takes away horsepower. It takes away the power increase gained from an EWG and gives you only the boost control benefits. But like anything else exhaust, if you want it quiter, youll take power; if you want power, you'll make it louder. Obviously there are exceptions to all rules, so thats not a black and white case, but its a general rule of thumb.
