when i had to give them my VIN # they accused me of buying a Legacy GT and adding all of the trim, body kit, wheels, leather interior, etc to make it into a Limited, because for some reason my VIN was coming up as a 98 subaru legacy with a manual transmission. trust me, the insurance companies make mistakes all the time. that or else their computers do (easier to blame a computer than to admit you're a dumbass on the phone)

 

I got an 07 STi before the vin was available in the insurance companies system and am 23 with nothing on my driving record with $500k CSL and pay $3200 a year for my STi & 96 exploder. I would say to not get the 07 and get an 05 insurance will be lower..... also look into insurance companies other than the ones you see on TV all the time that advertising isnt free you know. I use Auto Owners. The Chubb is also a good solution along with Travelers & Safeco.
