Default lets talk...

So... Ive been wondering!

Why is it most guys with there wrx blow there tranny. Maybe i need to knock on wood right now but im running a shit load of mods on my car right now with cobb stage 2, pushing 17psi and the car is running fine. What RPMs are you guys droping the clutch??? LOL

Im actually ordering the SE RA gears soon just to be on the safe side for future mode....like vf34,sti pinks,je pistons, magnus intake manifold, protune.

I just think there is no need for a 5k clutch drop in first gear! like most of you are probably doing. just to shave a zilla sec off your 60ft.

Not all people break thier trannys in first gear. Ive gone through 4 trannys and not one has busted in first gear. Its always second. Plus one tranny went on a down shift. If you are not racing your car and not dropping at 5 thousand in first the RA gears should be fine. If you wanted to go a little better than the RA, i like the PAR set.

Well what every one is saying that the 05 gear set is stronger then the other wrx years and why je pistons get better pistons and better rods your going to have the motor apart do it right the first time

Same transmission unless you get one of the new spec B's with the STi unit in them.

Oh and I learned to drive stock on my car and it has probably 50 track launches on it plus a few more on the street and its still running fine. But that doesnt mean I dont have a bunch of money set aside for PPG or STi 6speed down the road...

I don't get the talk about bad transmissions. I learned stick on my 2002, so the first 1000+ miles were HARD on that new car, but when I traded it in with 55000 miles on it, it still felt pretty new. I never beat on my car, or raced it, so maybe that is why, but I don't get what the fuss is all about. On the 2006 one I have now, the car feels stronger, and maybe they beefed it up because they realized so many people were driving the WRX hard. But I don't anticipate the tranny going bad on me.
