i think it might be the inlet pipe....i noticed it looked a little worn so there may be a small tear somewhere where it connects to the turbo. it there was a tear would it still be able to hit target boost?

other than that deadbolt said my turbo was in mint condition for it being used. and the turbo even has a new center cartridge and seals. so i am putting my money on a leak.

does anyone want to let me use one of their home made pressure testers?

pretty much yes. it's just pulling unmetered air after the maf. you aren't too far off so more than likely i would check for tears/rips along the inlet first visually. then pressure check it, i have a tester you can use.

if there is a tear in the inlet you should get that fixed asap and not drive too hard as in keep out of boost (i know its a hard thing to do).

a leak between maf and turbo is going to cause a serious lean condition. Although if you were tuned with the leak you maybe ok.

I personally would just take it easy till you can check it out.
