Question Top or Front mount...

Thinking of upgrading...I know the front runs cooler, but I hear there is less lag with a Top mount. Which is a better trade off for performance. Is the lag even an issue for those of you running a front mount?

Let me know what u think!?!?!

i just added a fmic, and, no lag at all. everything is more steady when power comes on. One thing i did notice was that the power was really nice at high rpms. It almost felt like vtec haha.

well, one thing that SS brought up to me before i got it was the idea of traffic. If you sit in stand still traffic a lot, then a fmic is the way to go. if you can avoid a good amount of it and keep moving, then the tmic would prove to still be efficient. But, fmic all the way

SS is right. Heatsoak while standing still will get a TMIC near egg frying temps. Also due to the extra piping, a FMIC will have a more consistent output temp over a given period of time.

only lag i noticed with the FMIC was after a shift. Took longer to build the boost back up. But other then that, the turbo spools at the same time and reaches full boost about the same time.

and with that, I will be sticking to a TMIC for the RS swap. Performance gain is not worth the extra $500.

thats true if you wont mod much...but if you want more hp...larger turbo..fmic is beneficial

hey, If you are interested in a topmount, mugenR has one that is in great shape! I actually ran a topmount with my setup for over a year the power was awesome. I step up to a fmic b/c i might be doin some new power items. I told myself that i wouldnt do a fmic, but, i did it. Also, another reason i did the fmic is b/c i found it for a smokin price. It was a price i couldnt refuse. so, yea.
