Roommates 98 Legacy out for the count. Need Help
My roommate has the legacy wagon and it over heated last night. Not sure how long she drove, but she said it was from the offramp to the first gas station (1/2 mile), but the thing was bone dry of coolant. She said the car sputtered once and then stalled out. They said the steam was coming from the passenger side more towards the front. Basically over the right cylinder head. The oil looks and smells fine. When we started refilling it the water would boil as soon as it got to the bottom of the radiator. I couldn't turn the car over to hear it for a second because the battery died out. The Parking lights will not turn off.
What are the possibilities of this engine seizing from the heat? I don't think it's a head gasket.
Scoobies are great until something goes wrong, then random other stuff pops up.
