On my 03' WRX I have an HKS 3inch catless turbo-back w/ K&N panel filter and snorkel delete. I am spiking to 18lbs. in 3rd-5th, and when I floor it in 4th or 5th I get bad compressor surge where boost ossilates between 7 and 18lbs. I am on stock EM and obviously a little worried. I am thinking of adjusting the wastegate to try and quell it temp. until I get an AP, which will be soon hopefully. My question is should I be worried about my turbo? It spools quickly, but it spikes and surges. I have 67k on the car btw.

I was thinking the exhaust might have had something to do w/ it. I am going to ge an AP asap. I also reset the ECU and it seems to have helped out a lot.
