Help with Boost Problem
I am having a problem with my boost not hitting the set target of 18-19 psi peak. SS has my car setup with a prodrive boost curve that hits 19 peak and then tapers to 14.5 at redline. The problem is that lately I have noticed that my boost will only peak to about 16.5. I have tried both maps I have and still have this problem. This is also the second time I have had this happen since my original tune. I was wondering if anyone else has had the problem or knows where it could be leaking from. I'll be calling ss on this, but just wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas. My setup is tbe, up, and ecutek. Thanks.
yeah it could... I dont hit my peak during hot days. This is why people like Dave / faded spend extra money on coating and wraping everything they can, because it helps under the hood temps tremendously and helps eliminate this problem.
I had the same problem, it turned out to be a bad Perrin EBCS. The heat shouldn't make a difference because SS puts in different wastegate duty cycles based on temperature......so if it gets extremely hot then the turbo ahould just work harder to make more boost. are you running stock tmic or SRI? My car makes 20psi now at any temp, it just spools a little quicker and hits a little harder during cooler weather.

i have a stock tmic and stock turbo with about 65,000 on it. my other buddy told me that it might be the turbo can't push that much anymore. but i am going to go home today and recheck all my hoses and fittings and make sure everything is really tight. then maybe i'll go and test it out. i'm also going to call ss later today when i get off work to see what he thinks. thanks for the help guys.
