i have no gears!
the STi gears are so damn short and with the amount of mods i have its crazy how short they are now. i feel like im shifting like every 10 feet until i get to 4th 
anyone have any ideas for longer gears? is there a company out there that sells a longer final dive? is it best to change to a 5spd tranny and have it built? i know my car would be so much faster if i had longer gears.

I wound not change to a 5spd. You would have to change the gears to be able to handle your power level. I just upgraded to a set of Kaaz gears in my 5spd. 1st is longer but everything else is so close and short. I am doing 3750 rpms on the highway for 70mph. I wish I had a 6th gear! Thank goodness I am still getting 24miles to the gallon!

You will need a different drive shaft I believe and possibly rear end depending on the tranny you go with. My Kaaz is a straight cut 1-3 gear and is best suited for the 3.9 rear end. Nice and loud!

i am fortunate for what i have but id have to agree 100%. every day i wake up i think i couldve had an Sti if only i paid more monthly and saved more...but now im stuck with my 06 wrx.

ahh nvm, you have an 05, its a PITA to swap.
i think your kinda SOL on the 5-speed and i know nothing of gear ratios for the 06. i think PPG makes 1st and 2nd for the 6speed, but idk if the ratios are any different.
