2.5 shortblock install?
2.5 shortblock install?
Anyone know what they are doing when it comes to swapping a 2.5 shortblock into a wrx with the WRX 2.0 heads? I am looking into the swap but the price Mastro wants to do the swap is more than the damn shortblock. I am now thinking of doing the swap myself but I am scared shitless sice I have never pulled a WRX motor or swapped shortblocks period. Anyone know a credible shop that can do the swap for cheap? Or anyone exprerienced willing to help me?

sounds like a fun project. i dont know of any people that have done the swap on their own. most have paid shops to do it
yeah, I was looking at Mastro. but I can't pay them more $ for install then what the block cost. James I was trying to get ahold of you last night. I am going to pm you.

SRQ said he just pulled the motor and put it back in. He didn't actually disassemble the motor and reassemble. However, I will check with him

are you tearing down the block? or just putting heads on it?
why would you put 2.l heads on a 2.5?, yes i know some people say they flow better but the AVCS is more that anything you could get with the wrx heads...
or is this just lack of options?
laybor is not cheap. expect to pay at least 80 bucks an hour.
