Help..new to subaru.. thx
used STi. If your parents can afford to spend $25k on your first car then they probably don't have a problem paying for your college or another car if you wreck this one. but it is a powerful car for your first, you should make sure you take it easy for the 1st couple months till you learn to respect the power it can put down. as long as you're smart and responsible (and there are some teenagers who fit that description) then you should be alright.
i never said this is my 1st car...Ive been driving a 98 prelude for 4 months and am ready for a newer faster car..... Thx for all the comments.... .
Last question if i were to get a used sti do you think i can find a 2005 with 20-30k miles for about 20k?

My vote goes to Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, curve or Chevy Nomad when they come out.
If you want a Subaru for one of your first cars, most certianly start with a WRX rather than an STi.

On second thought, if you really want a Subaru Impreza, get a 2.5i (non-turbo.) You have no idea what you are "ready" for; you've only been driving for 4 months! Please, look at this thread: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45694 Do us all a favor and show it to your parents as well. I'm not picking on you, but the WRX is a whole lot of car to handle, and the STi is realistically out of your league. Having said that, I'm sure you think I'm an idiot and that you are t3h aWsOme driver!!! I was 16 once too and it wasn't that long ago. The Prelude that you are driving now is a great first car and is plenty fast. Really, wait a few years and see what is available then; faster cars come out every year.

why dont you save you 25gs and get a used wrx. I say this because when youve spent anoth 10gs to make it fast and then you figure out I should have gone eith the sti in the first place, you wont feel so bad.
