If there are any upgrades that can be done to the area you have to take apart i would do it.
Glad to hear you got it back in town with nothing missing.
on a side note my car runs good again. There was so much moisture in the air that night that my intake beeing down by the ground caused me to suck in all that mist and was get my mas all wet.

For those that don't know...the STi uses metal end-links with sealed sperical bearings at each end.
If the car is lifted off the ground with the wheels hanging free and for whatever reason the sway bar is moved downward (Say if bumped or moved to gain access to a bolt)and if the swaybar and end-links are not correctly positioned before you lower it back to the ground the end-link will bind, then bend and put an outward pressure on the rear hub. If the car is driven like this the outward pressure caused can be enough to "pop" the bearings and cv-joint out of the axle housing. It's a somewhat common problem for those that aren't aware of the issue.

I just have one comment on this issue. As I mentioned before, I think that the easiest way to prevent the sway bar from flipping is to make sure that the sway bar does not move sideways and/or install longer end links.
Sideways movement of the sway bar increases the distance between the lateral link's end link mounting point and the sway bar arm allowing it to flip as the suspension unloads. With that said, I am not 100% sure that even if the sway bar is kept exactly in the middle this will never occur.
This is the reason why we changed the design of out links and made them stronger and longer to prevent this from happening. In addition, you can make our links longer still as they are adjustable.
From the pictures it seems that the end links have given up and deformed and that saved the other components from damage. But I would make sure that the lateral links are not bent and the mounts are still in good shape.
