I actually work for Unitrin....not in underwriting though....I'm a claims adjuster.....but I have gotten quotes from them before, and they are just slightly higher than what I'm paying now with Esurance.
I have 50/100/50 liability, 10/20 Uninsured/underinsured, comp/collision w/ a $500 deductible....and I pay $885/6 months on my 04 WRX.

I know my 00 civic hatch cost 120 more a year than my 02 wagon did, same coverage.

depends on your coverage and deductible you choose as well. lower limits usually yields the lower price but you are far more at risk in an accident that turns out to be your fault. The person will sue you and your low limits from isn. company will be maxed and you would have to pay the rest with money, or your mother's home. so think about it... im 18/m/wrx/clean record no accidents. my insurance (through Statefarm) is right around $300/mth. that is after all of the possible discounts that can be applied. so you have to figure car payment + ins. payment + gas/oil change/accessories for the car...= can i afford it?
