I got pulled over 'cause my tint is too dark. I did a uturn in front of the cop, and drove by him @ 35mph in a 45mph zone, I got to a stoplight, and he pulled behind me, I knew he was going to pull me over, but I was wondering what for? So the light turns green, and his lights go blue, and I pull over, he walks up to my car, he goes "do you know why I pulled you over?" first thing I could think of was because when I was doing the u-turn I knew he was there radaring, I was flickering my lights at traffic going that way. So i thought he saw me do that and maybe it was agaisnt the law or something, but no, he pulled me over for my tint! He also harrassed me about my exhaust, and other things. What a pain he was.

With my civic 2 years ago, I would get pulled over almost every week. With the WRX, only one time, and it was really because it was dark, late and my registration expired that same month a few days later and they wanted to check me out, he did say something about the exhuast, but no tickets.

I have an SPT and STi catalog in my car, if they come with something like that I'll show them it's a dealer option, lol, maybe it will work.

With this new law, which I think is stupid, what about the old cars, old civics, rx7, integras that their stock exhaust has corroded away or dropped somewhere on the streets, are you supposed to go back to the dealer and buy a replacement? So all the exhaust and muffler shops are doing illegal work? I think is Bullshit and a group case against the state would change that law to a dB level instead.

Any lawyer here that wants to volunteer???

Is that in the law for sure? I would like to see the law section # so I can look it up and do some more research. They still pull me over and tell me the same thing on my civic. Last time was about 8 months ago, but I have been building the car since, so I have not driven it in a while, but I'm sure as soon as it is ready to go out I will get a ticket, all I have to do is drive to kissimmee, and I'll probably get 3 or 4 of them.

My hatch is an 88, so it's plenty old to be part of the "grandfather clause" and actually the stock exhaust was gone, it sounded louder than what I have now.

if you have a modified or aftermarkt exhaust. put a STI, FUJI, or SPT metal logo on the end and say you bought it from the dealership that way as a factory option.

i used to get harassed all the time in my wagon with the loud exhaust and the booming stereo. never got a ticket cuase they were all factory up grades...
and a good place to order one is?

Just do what I just started to do, use your right to remain silent. When the cop pulls you over hand him your license and regestration, follow any other instructions he gives you but you don't have to tell him anything. When a cop asks you a question and you give him an answer, they are questioning you and trying to get a confession out of you without directly asking you. As Joe said, the cop asked him where he got his exhaust done and his answer is a confession.
