Not true! There is a Florida statute that specifically states that a motor vehicles exhaust can not be modified from stock standards period. Trust me , I have had like three exhaust tickets......now it only matters what specific statute # is on the ticket, I beat 2 of the 3 exhaust tickets I got b/c the cop put the wrong statute.....for example I got one ticket for my exhaust but the statute was for OFF Road Equipment that may endanger other motorist......I.E. Swamp lights, exstensively bright lights, no lights, defective equpment etc. So look up the statute that he put on the ticket ....maybe it is the wrong one The other exhaust ticket I had I beat as well b/c I got a shop to write me up a reciept showing that the exhaust had been removed and is within state regulations.
