I want to replace my stock crap and get some good speaker. has anyone repalced there stock speakers cause i know some speakers wont fit in the front{know from experinse}.

 

My stockers kick ass. I would probably say check crutchfield for sizing and not choose anything with a huge magnet.

 

I think Subaru has the shitiest speakers and sound system of any car. There is no bass from the stock speakers and distortion if you turn it up past halfway! I have to say my 2001 civic's stock sytem was 10 times better. IMO.

 

i found the true problem inmy car was the crappy headunit, not so much the speakers (have the oem woofer too, FWIW)

with a better headunit, i find the oem's to be "adequate" , but certainly not glorious....

 

good point! but either way the stock system in general sucks!

 

I couldn't have said it better myself, i get serious distortion if I even try to turn them up slightly loud and I have to keep my bass on negative!

 

alot of this distortion is caused my the limitations of the headunit power source.

anyway, im by no means an audiophile, so i dont wanna venture any further insight/opinions on this..
i can tell you this, however, the kenwood 7015 headunit (am/fm/sirius/cd/dvd touchscreen, with optional remote mounted nav dvd w/voice) looks and fits better than the stock H/U (imo)

 

what are good speaker that fit?

 

I dont know the sizes, but MB quartz owns joo!

 

I will probably end up with Boston acoustics since i can get them for a decent price.
