i heatwrapped my downpipe today with some DEI wrap. everything went smoothly and put the downpipe on. took the car for a ride and car will not hit full boost. it is supposed to the hit a 1.2. only sometimes i can make it hit a 1.1 but most of the time it will only hit a 1 bar. also at about 6k the boost starts to go down. i cannot figure out what the issue is. i changed nothing else on the car. i touched nothing else on the car. i took the car out for a ride the night beforeand it was hitting the 1.2 bar no problem.
is the wrap causing me to have alot of lag?
also i didnt change the gasket in between the turbo and downpipe. this is the 2nd time i have reused that gasket. could it be the gasket?
anyone have any ideas. thanks in advance

Since the gasket is after the turbo........it will not affect your boost, even if it was leaking. I think the downpipe is not the problem, maybe it is because it is hot now as opposed to the past couple of days being fairly cool weather.

very true about the gasket. i dont think the car likes the wrap. im going to give it a couple days and see how it goes. ill take the wrap off if it doesnt get better.
The only way to be certain is to try it, but I am almost positive that your downpipe isn't the problem with your boost. It may have been weather related. Do you have a MBC or EBC? The heat wrap would only make a difference with how fast the air can move throught the downpipe, which may affect HP numbers but not the amount of boost you are able to hit. But, again trial and error is the only way to be ABSOLUTELY certain. If your anything like me, you are probably peeling off heat wrap ( an absolute bitch to do!) to try and gain back some boost. Boost is made before the turbo and at the turbo......so boost lost cannot be caused by parts after the turbo. Do you have a blow off valve?? with the change in back pressure a BOV could be bleeding off boost if not adjusted properly. Just throwing possibilities out there!

i dont have a boost controller at all. mine is controlled through ecutek. i do have a BOV and it is set at 50/50.
Ok, thanks to Apexi wrx's comment I think I know why this has happened. The o2 sensor could be registering higher EGT's and therefore the ECU is pulling boost in order to keep the EGT's down to what is considered ideal in the tune parameters.
