Ok, thanks to Apexi wrx's comment I think I know why this has happened. The o2 sensor could be registering higher EGT's and therefore the ECU is pulling boost in order to keep the EGT's down to what is considered ideal in the tune parameters.
so i think i should just take the wrap off?

it looks very nice, but......... if it isnt helping, well.....
makes sense about the egt's, but w/o a sensor, it cannot be verified.....
Why is it that everyone ignores me whenever I try to explain that wrapping the entire downpipe will increase lag? If you're going to wrap it only wrap the portion before the bend to help offset this effect.
You want the hottest possible gasses before the turbo and the coolest possible gases past the turbo in order to promote spool.
In theroy wrapping the downpipe will increase spool time but with a TMIC I think it's a reasonable trade off. I only wrapped the upper part of the downpipe inside the engine compartment to minimize this effect.
Also, if memory serves me correctly the STi doesn't have a EGT sensor. The EGT sensor is specific to the 2.0L EJ that has the cat in the uppipe. The oxygen sensor doesn't monitor EGT, it's just an oxygen sensor.
That issue aside if there was an EGT you wouldn't notice much of increase in temperature before/after the wrap was installed.
I would guess that the most likley situation here is that one of gaskets isn't sealed and/or you're experiencing some increased lag from the entire downpipe being wrapped.

it has to be the wrap. i took the car out for a good spin today and its only in the lower gears that i cant hit full boost. high in higher gears i can hit full boost no problme. in 5th gear hit a 1.3bar just fine.
what i think is happening is the wrap is causing the lag long enough that the gears arent long enough for me to hit full boost.
im taking the wrap off. ill keep you guys posted.

yeah it looks so nice and clean but i like more boost so this stuff has got to go
Well what u could do is drive around for a couple of days and let your ecu learn whats going on or u could reset the ecu. Try that and what lstepnio is saying hes right

he's right though guys.. dont wrap post turbo.. just pre turbo.
