- Air enters intake/airfilter
- travels through intake piping and through turbo
- air exits turbo and moves to the intercooler
- charge air exits intercooler and goes to the throttle body/intake manifold
- combustion occurs and exhaust gases are released by the exhaust valves
- exhaust travels through header/manifold and up pipe
- exhaust enters the turbo and spins the turbine, which turns the compressor wheel
- the exhaust gases exit the turbo or the wastegate and continue out through the exhaust

I was under the impression that because you had more space, because the intercooler was bigger that the turbo could produce more air than normal into the intercooler. I see now what you're saying.

I do have to say though, that "bigger" does not at all directly result in more pressure drop. There are many factors involved, including the process used to construct the IC core, the length and routing of IC piping, the IC end tank design...
Every IC design, FMIC or TMIC, has its own unique pressure drop signature at a certain HP rating.
There are FMICs that are 2-2.5x the size of the stock TMIC that have less pressure drop than it @ 260WHP.
It's all in the details.
There are a lot of generalizations people make that are far too simplified. Find an IC that suits your power level with as small a pressure drop as possible (yet with good cooling) and go for it if you want one.

That's the reason I made sure to say that my response was a quick one and I used the terms can and might when talking about larger intercoolers.

Don't worry, I didn't take what you said personally...just wanted to clear up for everyone that I will at times make generalized statements. But, when I do, I always try to quantify them with words like: most, may, might, sometimes, could happen, etc.As for the real question, I'm pretty sure you got to meet them in person at Quaker Steak.
