ECUTek, TBE and fuel pump. You'll be in the 310-320 WHP range, same goes for the torque figures. That's 70+ WHP/TRQ for under $2k! You STi guys definatley have an advantage when modding compared to WRX owners.

I was wondering if someone would say something, because i saw that 65 hp figure and i was a little surprised... im not so sure you get anywhere near 65 hp out of just an intercooler with an otherwise stock or close to it setup, and as cool as a front mount may look, its pointless until actually necessary

I don't think that's possible either. I have a 65hp with CAI Turboback Exchaust, FMIC, Ecutek, and fuel pump.

ok, let me put my 2 cents in. i have never owned a subaru, although when i get back from basic i plan to by a wrx. but, the stock top mount is great as long as you dont:
A) turn up the boost
B) drive hard for an extended period of time
because the stock turbo suffers from that little thing called HEAT SOAK!!! i recomend going with the Easy Street Motorsports top mount intercooler for now. with the stock turbo, a new TBE, K&N Sti intake, and the ESX top mount, TSX RFL BOV ( turbo xs blow off valve ) you will have an awesome car. ( of course, add more mods as u wish...lol ) you should also get short shifter, ditch the stock seats-the side bolsters suck for serious driving and they arent good for harnesses( if you have plans for those), and look at a good suspension setup. i also like the look of the charge speed body kit, that is if u are into looks as well as performance. there are so many mods to make to this car, and mostly it depends on how u plan to drive it, your budget, and your taste. good luck with your car!

putting a FMIC on a stock car could result in a small loss in power as the pressure drop means yer getting less psi into the turbo .. ie it might drop from 13 to 12.5 psi .. (just an example) .. i'd love to see some dyno gaphs of a car with just a FMIC added to prove me wrong..i am far from being an expert in this field.
I respectfully disagree with that.
Your boost will go up with a FMIC not down. After I swapped mine out and before the tune my boost pressure went up from the stock 10psi up to 15 1st thru 3rd gear and 18psi fro 4th thru 6th. You have more air with the FMIC so you're giving more air to the turbo which the turbo can now produce more boost pressure. I've seen it with my own eyes...

After the tune and my boost was set to 20psi on the stock STi turbo.

The only reason you might see differences with a FMIC like Zate explained is because you now have alot bigger intercooler core to fill as well as the extra piping to fill, all before anything gets to the engine. That's why you can experience a greater pressure drop with a larger intercooler.
Just when I thought I had it all figured out. So where does the air in the intercooler go?
