Default why not TT the wrx?

Does anyone know the reasons why people haven't gone TT on the wrx? Seems like a decent idea for the money, just picking up another td04 and having someone fabricate two exhaust mani's. You could probably even use just an upgraded TMIC since they have two entrances on them. Is there just no room for piping on the battery side? Here's a pic I found of a TT 2.5RS setup i believe.

Lots of supra owners stick with twins and i've seen them go over 1000rwhp personally. What's your point? The layout of the motor isn't wonderful for a single setup, piping cannot go larger than 2'' in many areas, without the aid of some serious fabrication. I would think it would be different, responsive, and a possible cheaper alternative with everyone ditching their tdo4's.

i wouldnt compare supra's to a WRX even tho ive seen a supra put down 1150rwhp with 2 turbonetics T66's and then barely be able to get back up to 1000 after puting a huge tubonetics T88. the wrx layout just looks like its asking for a twin turbo setup the way it sits but was probably not effective enough for subaru to spend the extra amount money to make it work.

Even the company who made it. The owner ran that setup for a few months and eventually switched back to a single turbo setup.

i think more the issue is how to keep heat IN the exhaust before the turbo, rather than add all the monkey fucking an additional turbo would cause... you would almost have to stay tmic, or a 300zx style fmic to run it, and besides, engine bay space is cramped as hell! The supras actually respond the same if not WORSE with big twins as opposed to a big single. Some of the most powerful supras are on a single i.e Peter Blach, 1137 to the wheels i think? I think he is running either an RPS or SP single turbo and making massive power. The HKS 2835 twins are capable of 700-800 WHP and are nearly 7000 dollars! An SP74 single is under $5000 and can produce the same power with slightly less lag, and FAR less complexity! Turbocharger spoolup is mainly heat, with only like 30% being flow... If the turbo could be closer to the exhaust ports or if there was an efficient way to retain heat in the piping until the exhaust housing, you would most likely be better off... and think, twin tdo4's would then be pushed by 2 cylinders worth of heat and flow, as opposed to 4, so would dealing with additional lag, as well as a compressor that may not be the most efficient, you would go to all this trouble to find out the power from 2 of these turbos may not be greater than something that you could potentially "bolt on" and then you have this labryinth of piping and a greater potential for failure.. However, if you do decide to do this, i think it would be freakin cool, as i thought about this myself, just never had the balls or the capability... Either way, i would like to see it... ya know, just to see

I don't have the money to pull that stunt off, just was curious why nobody else with the money had made the attempt. I'm all for staying with top-mount ic's on the wrx unless you decide to build the bottom-end, so that's not what would throw me off the idea. I think it would be more of the tuning, having to change the way the air was measured, stuff like that. I do agree that the tdo4's might end up not being the way to go, but then again, if you got the money to try this, you hopefully have the money to try some t25's or something. There's nothing wrong with trying something different, one of the small reasons i'm pleased i bought a wrx, and like dave said in a post earlier, the boxer setup just looks like its calling for a TT setup. I'm pleased to hear somebody else atleast thought of the idea too 722.
