AWD Dyno
id just like to see what kind of demand you AWD guys give for an AWD dyno, no more welding center diffs, no dropping driveshafts, just roll on, buckle up, pull, and roll off. what would you all be realisticly be willing to pay for this per hour. and please, ask any questions you think are important.

well just in theory, it was actually going to be less then a regular dyno..it wasnt going to be like mastro's, it was going to be Dynojets' setup if anything i believe.

Im iffy about using dyno jets AWD add on since its a smaller roller and will give different load to diffs if I recall the protests against it.
that being said, if a regular 2wd dyno is say $75 for 3 pulls I wouldnt mind paying say $100, I think $25 is acceptable for additional work to mount it (not sure how dynojets moves to accomodate different wheel base's) but $100+ is not appealing.

mastro rapes on those awd pulls....and dont give me that 'it's the only awd dyno in the state so deal with it'....i don't give a fuck how much they charge...but i'm saying...it is rape...
yes, and mastro's pricing is what kinda of makes this appealing to all parties. because i dont think that it would cost anymore then $75 for 3 baselines w/ wideband.
and Bone, ill try to get in contact with them and see what they have to say about that, but that is a good point.
Dynojet was the choice just because alot of people have already dynoed on one, and i know some people like to keep their numbers to one specific dyno as all dyno's dont measure the same.
The ease of setup, like pulling on, strapping down, and pulling is also something else that was appealing, much more easy than having to pull the tires off and mount them to the dyno.

Funny before we bought the dyno all you people out there said "An AWD dyno sweet I wanna run".
Doesnt matter to me though enough people think its not a "Rape" and we have been using it alot.
So we should charge $75 on a machine that cost $80,000 and takes al least 1/2 hour to set up and take down, plus test drive before and after plus the hour of time the tech is being used.
I would love to see some of you own a buisness.

i think Kyle half the issue is you got the wrong kind of dyno.. that one takes along time to set up and so it costs more.. hence the price is higher than people can afford...it might be accurate and a great dyno.. but setup time is killer.
i dont know what the prices are of late, but from what i can gather any kind of tuning on the dyno is really expensive... its just not that way on a 2wd dyno.. it shouldnt be twice the wheels so twice the money is what most people are getting at.
hey if another dyno pops up around town able to do awd cars.. more power to em.. but its been talked about before and never happend.. so it might not this time either... mastro still has the cheapest AWD dyno in town.. any way you look at it.. and Keyle does have a valid point..its not as simple to organise/pay fgor/maintian/have a tech on hand etc etc as people think.
