Aftermarket short shifter...good or bad idea?
I just got my short shifter in the mail but i was talking to HKSWRX and he said that they can tear up ur transmition....should i install it or not..but on bad thing is it didnt come with installation instructions..here is where i bought it from

i don't see how they tear up your transmission
but i have the perrin on mine but i do have a dogbox so i don't know the effect it would have on the stock transmission but they are easy to install

it can tear up a trans with synchros... hkswrx needs to specify or listen to me better ....
if you shorten the linkage to shift, the throws change, hence the short throw... if the throw is shorter, you can shift quicker, therefore not allowing the synchros to speed up, i.e rev match....

you bought it.. i dont forsee it causing too many problems if any. but hey, if your scared, sell it.. if you want to try, put that sucker on....
and youll need a lightweight rubber mallet, and some lube for that bad boy, if you are going to do it yourself~
