Serious answer to a serious question..?
Whats the most WHP that anyone has heard of a stock long block WRX putting down? I don't care what turbo, how much nitrous, etc... just stock unported heads, intake, TB, rods, etc...no cam swaps, intake swaps etc, etc, etc...

ive heard people bark big numbers... but ive also heard that 398 whp was the most.. i believe that car covered TURBO mag a few months back, well, quite a few months back.. its white...
at the time it was at 376 to the wheels, on stock trans too!
rumor i read was that the car nudged 400 whp, and something went awry, now it has a built motor... needless to say, this is all heresay, if i find documentation, ill be the first to let you know...

I've heard of cars running 350whp on stock internals from some pretty reliable sources (past posts by Shiv from Vishnu and some other folks in the business). Are the stock internals reliable in the 350whp+ range? Hell no, but I do not think you care too much about that.
Will the internals hold at 375whp+, probably not for long, but with enough fuel and you might get some very decent quarter runs in it.
The white car mentioned above is probably the most I've ever heard of on stock internals...was owned by a guy in CA if memory serves. The crank is strong, but not sure how long the bearings and conrods will last under that kind of strain. Would be interesting to hear what you have in mind.

you always hear of the "BIG" numbers but i'm VERY interested to see something proving it. maybe i'm just not looking hard enough but I can't seem to find any stock internal cars going fast that can actually prove to me that everything is stock inside. honestly most of the larger companies are so secretive about everything they do im not sure i believe that their claims are true or just gimmicks to boost sales. the only two cars that i am absolutely confident are 100% stock are the guy from TurboXS, (his name escapes me, but we've talked alot) whos car goes 12.20's, and Clark Turner who runs 11.80's on big booost and spray. besides these two guys I can't seem to find any other examples. Even Garrett at World One doesn't seem to know of anyone else and I know he talks to 100's of people a week, and by the interest he shows in my car I can onlly imagine that 350 to 400 whp isnt something that actually happens very often. so where in the hell are all these big power WRX's? i feel all lonely. it sucks when you cant find anyone to compare notes with.

Give me some money and I'll join you on that island.
Enjoy being lonely...you're a pioneer on this side of the pond.
Have you tried contacted any of the Australian lunatics on the other side of the world? Some of the biggest power Scoobs I've seen have come out of Australia. I think the ExViTermini GC8 was running a stock bottom end to 500bhp, but eventually killed it. Could be wrong on that one though.

i talked to Rob at chiptorque a few times but the phone bill was a killer! apparently there are some big numbers being put down across the lake but id really like to find some US folks. i'm almost positive anyone that would be making power would be on one of the major sites, but so far no luck.

oh yeah.... are there upgraded, or larger throttle bodies available for our cars? if so, at what point would it be beneficial to do so? would you have to be producing in excess of a certain amount for it to be worthwhile?>
