evo 8 on the dyno... boost control, cat back... 245 whp

i wasnt necessarily impressed....

nice car, nice guy... i just expected a car @ 22 PSI on a 16 g to make more than that?

 

Wow 22 sounds like alot, but what do they come with stock?

 

damn....22 psi...iirc the sti is only pushing 14 psi....aand making more power....hahhahah i laugh at your evos....ahahaha

oh well...i wish my car made 245 to the wheels....as it sits now i'm lucky to be hitting 1 whp.

 

i believe 19 is stock, but it tapers off at high RPM.... i dunno though

 

Considering the car had some work done, and had a big power gap between the ### it was making, and the STi, im kinda confused..... although, the car did sound nice at WOT

 

22psi and he's only pulling 245whp?? Something was not right with this guy's car. Chances are he was leaning out and the car was pulling timing or he was lying about the boost pressure. They run 19.5 stock and make 270 claimed bhp, which should equate to around ~230whp. Putting 3 more pounds through the motor and only picking up 15whp is extremely bad times. I seriously doubt you'll see a number like that from a car that's properly tuned. Still, it's nice to think a car with 22psi makes less whp than my humble little commuter at 17.5.

Didn't realize you got the number from Alan. I would hope he's not lying. The fact of the matter remains, those kinds of power numbers on that kind of boost have suck. Our WRXes would be over 100whp more at that boost level with a turbo capable of producing it. Hooray WRXes!

 

i was thinking that.. wrx's make nearly as much WHP with a reflash/utec style ecu, and nothing more than a turboback exhaust... eek.. that still leaves us $7k away from the evo.. suddenly the 270whp STi looks sweeter.. although the tires on the evo are niiice! and stock fmic is cool.. even the SRT-4 beats us there... but apples to oranges... im through and through fuji loyal now!

also.... the guy who owned the car showed me most of the charts... he had all the different psi written down on a notepad to match em up with each pull.... id still be worried about florida summers pump gas and 22 psi!!! :o that pig musta had NO timing advance. Holy knock sensor batman!

oh yeah, sorry Erik... didnt mean to make it sound like i was being an ass explaining how alan told me the figures... came out a bit choppy, i was just saying... i couldnt really belive it either..
