no truth to that either. I have ran all my personal turbo setups with manifolds coated in and out for the last ten years. I have always used EGT as well.
heat drives the turbine. heat lost to manifold ends up in your engine compartment where it does no good. making engine compartment hotter is a bad thing, especially when no cold air intake is used.

this is also why I would never run a fabbed stainless manifold for a daily. stainless looses its heat very quickly. they always slow spool compared to cast manifold. engine compartment temps soar when using stainless. I have done a few swaps to stainless manifolds. I noticed engine compartment heat when I opened the hood. face blasted with heat that isnt normally there. talked to guy in NY years ago that measured this heat. he measured 175 peaks with factory cast manifold. and when he swapped to fabbed mani he saw 325 peaks.

in short coating inside mani is a VERY GOOD thing.

my 25g setup coated shows 25ft/lbs torque gain after coating. shocking seat of the pants improvement.
