If your a stunter or someone who doesnt ride twistys or trackdays or race then the Race Rails would be a good option for slower accidents. THE LONGER THE FRAME SLIDER IS THE MORE LEVERAGE FORCE IT WILL PUT ON YOUR FRAME AND ENGINE MOUNT.
I personally would rather protect my Frame and Engine, because that costs a lot more then fairings.
Whoa man no need to be agressive... Frame sliders are more useful at slow speed drops, Ive seen them snap off motor mounts and bend the motor mounts at various speeds. I have also seen the sliders hook into the ground too and cart wheel a bike. Its all those worst case scenerios, but then again like you said you would rather protect your motor and frame with the best protection. So your saying that 30$ plastic pucks with shitty entry grade steel bolts are going to protect better then a 200$ steel rail that attaches at 2 points for more rigidity with a soft aluminum puck? Im putting my money on the parts with more structural integrety...
