If you watch craigslist you'll see almost any p.o.s. listed under 2k sells almost instantly. Once you get to 4k, 5k and up , there arent that many buyers that have that much cash to buy a car. They need loans to finance the purchase and end up buying from "Buy here, pay here" lots.
This is the truth. I listed my wore out daily driver for $950 obo on craigslist. It sold for $800 in 8 hrs.
my truck, which is listed for $5500, has had some super low ball offers (like 2k, etc) for two weeks and it isn't going anywhere. I'll be driving it now that my dd is gone....
