Need some opinions and help on a car for sale. I have never had a problem selling a car before but for some reason, either price or market are wrong....Any advice or help is appreciated....2000 Z-28 Automatic T-tops, normal power everything, 105,000 miles....I have had only 2 emails on car in 3 weeks, its listed for 7400.00 or best offer?????

well, they say an item is worth whatever anyone is willing to pay for it, but without actually seeing the car, It sounds like the price is too high. My kelly blue book shows the value of this car to be 7050.00 in "Excellent" condition, which is pretty much a car that still looks NEW. In "good" condition they list it at 4800.00. I think the blue book prices are actually a bit high compared to what you see most people selling cars for in this area, on craigslist, etc. I'd guess your car is probably worth in the range of 4000-4800.00 but like I said above, it's really a matter of what someone is willing to pay for a car. Also, with the economy being what it is, higher priced cars aren't selling as fast. If you watch craigslist you'll see almost any p.o.s. listed under 2k sells almost instantly. Once you get to 4k, 5k and up , there arent that many buyers that have that much cash to buy a car. They need loans to finance the purchase and end up buying from "Buy here, pay here" lots.
I'm trying to sell a beautiful 1988 corvette with only 85k miles on it and I've only gotten 2 calls in three weeks also, so you aren't alone.

I just checked Kelley Blue Book online, even Fair condition private party value....Fair condition is 8895.00....Which one did you check to get 4800.00.....Never seen a nice LS car that cheap?????
I got the figures I quoted from the actual paper kelly blue book on my desk. After seeing your response I typed the same thing into the KBB online website. 2000 z-28, automatic, 105k miles. It came up with 4825.00 in fair condition, private party value. I don't know why your figure you got was so much higher.
Hmmmm...maybe you checked off alot more option boxes than I did. I checked off power seat, windows, locks ,cruise, and CD and it gave me this>

Anyhow, these guides are really just general guidlines anyhow. It would probably be best if some guys that actually sold cars similar to your car recently weighed in on what they've sold them for or what they've seen some actually sell for (not asking prices, but actually selling prices)
good luck with it. Hope you snag a buyer soon.
