My truck is leaking through the same hole and its making a fucked up ticking noise. And the air chisel method will probably work easy on my truck,.. the 6.0 has no belt on it to hold the water pump pulley plus I'm doing the motor here at my house and I have no air compressor here. So I'm screwed either way.
I watched a video on youtube where a guy bolted up a small chain to one of the holes on the pulley and locked it to the top of the head. I'm going to try that method tomorrow. If that doesnt work I'm definitely going to get down and see Shaun and John to see what they have that I can use to get it off with.
Going to check and see if HarborFreight sells a strap wrench large enough to go around the pulley. That looks like it might be an alternative.
And a one piece housing for the thermostat? WTF is up with that? What a piss poor design this whole mess is.
