They actually did it in 6 1/2 hours lol $900 is a LOT for a OEM replacement clutch. Labor costed more than the clutch itself. Don't know much about Cougars myself, but the Engine/Tranny were same setup as the Neon. Looking at the front you have the DOHC engine with Cam gears to the left (or Passenger side) and tranny to the right (or Driver side).
it doesnt matter how long it took to do it . Book time is about 10 hours , thats what you get charged , and the clutch is around 180-200. Average labor is 80 bux . So , he got a good deal for 900 , there is nothing easy about a 99 cougar , I miss quoted labor before , but it's still close to 10 hours
