Agree? Yes or no? Because it is always the owner saying "the dog never showed signs of aggressive behavior".
They are bred for it.
It all depends on the situation. In this little situation of yours, you have said a big word. "IF"....I mean, this dog will (statistically speaking anyway) never harm more than the occasional flea. (and yes, it will probably maul and maim it AND eat it!)
Poor flea. Anyway, like I said, the overwhelming majority of pits will not "snap". How he treats this dog is a large part of that. If he mistreats it, and it snaps, then yes. He should go to jail. If he treats it like he's SUPPOSED to, and takes care of it, it will most likely never have an issue. Now, just as he has to train the dog....He needs to train his KIDS when to, and when not to, screw around with the dog. But this is common sense.
