Those custom thick cometic gaskets can be a bit tricky to seal sometimes. I would sell it and get a golden eagle oem one. At 10:1 the pistons are flat tops and unless the piston is sticking out of the hole more than .010" you shouldn't have any contact issues.
A standard gasket is something like .027" if my memory serves me correctly and I believe a standard crown height h22a piston sits .020" to .030" below deck so the machine shop would have had to deck the block approx. 0.030 to .040" for you to even have to start worrying about that. I'd bet they decked it less than .005-.010".
That and you loose a bit of quench area which isn't worth it imo
