It dosnt matter how much matte clear you use, once the surface is buffed or rubbed enough it will turn shinny and thats the end of it. Its just not going to be a deep shine so it will look like a gloss coating over dull paint.
The coats thing was just saying basecoat only, that wouldnt shine up, but then the first time a drop of anything hit it, i'd have a shitty spot, im just gonna use the matte / flat clear, if it gets shined up spots so be it.
