Ok. So S13 bearings and S14 4-lug bearings are not the same. Period. All S14's use different spindle tapers (and thus inner bearing races) than S13's. AND, S14 4-lug hubs are not the same as 4-lug S13 hubs, easily represented by the fact that they take different studs. So, yes, It would be REALLY easy to go get S14 4-lug spindles for free and go get new OEM hub/bearing assemblies for $230 and basically have new everything.

I think Z28ricer's solution for taking free J30 throwaway hubs and pressing in S13 bearings is at least another alternative. Chasing a machinist and shop guy (because I don't have my own press) isn't something I'm going to waste my time on to save a few bucks, but it wouldn't be a stretch for someone who works at a shop to do this.

I havent seen the S14 front hubs for much cheaper than FRsports $260 + shipping. Nor have I seen S14 front spindles given away, generally the best I could actually find them for somewhat readily available was $50/side, so $360, as opposed to being able to go any day of the week to get a set of J30 hubs for nearly nothing, pickup a set of new bearings for $100, and then pay the whopping $40 total I did for having the old bearings pressed out, the hubs machined for the lock ring groove to be in the correct spot, and then the new bearings pressed back in.

$140 > $360 not to mention eliminating the trouble of installing the spindles and drilling struts/shocks, its a bolt on solution, lower priced, and the quality is no less, other than tims crack smoking ONLY MY WAY IS BETTER CAUSE I SAYSIS SO ! attitude.
