I will try that next time, b/c I am shifting at 7k. What about the 1-->2 shift? Should that still be done at 7k?

Unfortunately, unless the guy who wants to take my car down the 1320 has $35k in $100 bills in a bag slung over his shoulder, he's not even sitting in the driver's seat while the car's at the track. I do not have a track endorsement in my insurance policy and as such cannot and will not assume the risk. When my car is at the track, only I drive it. If anything happens to it while I'm there, it MUST be my fault. That's something I insist on.
