Yes, people put older style intakes on the newer style heads, because you can slot the holes, and even use angled spacers to do it "right".

However he's wanting to go with a newer intake on older heads, so the intake has a bunch of material that must be removed to get the bolts in at the older angle, its not as simple as just making it back up with a spacer.

The tbi housing to regular carb'd manifold might be a good idea.
