Too much money for that tranny in your car.

You will end up spending another $600 - $1000 to make it work.

You could buy a T5 and and have Gforce internals put in it for the same money and have a much stronger tranny.

Or just purchase a used T5 and be that much more money in the pocket.

If you want a T56,.. you will need to go with the 03/04 Cobra spec tranny. That would be the most cost effective and simplistic route to get a 6spd in there.

Personally,.. you need to get your motor and chassis up to par before considering a tranny of that caliber. Waste of money this early in the game. $1000 for a GM spec T56 in your car is too much. For another Fbody,.. sure,. its a good deal. Because it would bolt right in. That tranny will NOT be a simple bolt in procedure for your car. You will need a lot of modifcations to get it to work.

And talk to any LS1 owner who goes to the track on a regular basis. They have nothing but problems with clutches because of the hydraulic setup. I've done 2 LS1 clutch jobs. I know whats involved,.. and its a pain in the ass when using after market clutches. My last one I had to pull the tranny back out 3 times because I couldnt get the pedal adjusted right. Had to replace the slave twice and then shim it to get the pedal and clutch to work properly. I hate GM hydraulic clutch setups. I had a similar problem doing one in a 88 Iroc with a T5. Nothing but headaches. I wont do anymore clutches on Fbodies. I'll let the pro's handle it. LoL.
