i ride safe because i value my life and job.
i get a ticket i lose my job...plain and simple...so i dont have room to screw around anymore.
plus after you see brains and body parts scattered across the road it makes you value your life a bit more...your not as invincible as you once though...
In my world, having my body parts smeared across 3 lanes of traffic is an acceptable risk. I'm not suicidal. I'm not crazy. In fact, I consider myself rather sane. I've just come to the realization in my short years on the planet that shit happens. You could do everything exactly right, and something will come out of the blue and smash you down.
In other words, in the end, the fear may not keep me alive. I'm absolutely terrified of getting maimed and surviving only to live as a quad. Getting smeared across the street is much more attractive to me than snapping my spine.
I'm not in the medical feild at all, however, I've seen a few motorcycle crashes first hand; been down myself 3 times. Both of my parents are critical care nurses with experience in the OR and ER, and as a family we've all come to the same conclusion. We have no intention of ending up in the hospital. Its much easier to end up out of the picture all together. It doesnt seem that scary to me atm.
