check the shifter bushings, then undo some of the exhaust hangers so the exhaust sits lower and drive it around a bit to see if the exhaust is the problem....but i have a feeling you bent somthing in the tranny by slamming the shifter too hard. good luck
But i can see my exhaust move when i move it around in neutral if im looking under the car.
