im 20, i had 0 credit.. mom cosigned with me for my 07 gsxr 750, 0 money down i got approved by HSBC (theyre a bitch to get approved with, i got approved first shot)
btw, i did that when i was 19.
now im 20, my bike is paid off in full, have a seperate HSBC account open with my dirtbike on it that i got approved on first try as well, i have a bank of america and a capital one card i use for groceries and gas.
yesterday i went and bought a brand new dodge ram truck and i got approved 1st try thru suntrust financial...
basically, cosigners help alot with getting your credit jump started so you can go on to bigger and better faster.

ok well whos name is the lien under? like i said a cosigner spreads out the amount of debt. its just like if you have a 800 credit score but 80k in debt and make 40k a year. it wont go thru. the cosigner thing will only work if you put up collateral (i.e. COD, alamoney etc). i tried man. i was 21, moved back to fl and tried to get a bike with 0 credit and my mom as a cosignee. she has a 790 credit score and plenty of income with no debt. didnt go thru bc i had no credit. i got a credit card and used it for my typical spending and paid it off every 2 weeks. made my score shoot to a 760 in a year and a year later on the dot i bought my bike. what i was saying is dont use it and pay it off and get rid of it, or not use it and make the minimum payments that are required for a non secured credit card.
