They cannot force you to give them the car. They will give you the "totaled" value ($1100) minus the buyback value. Tell them that you want to be compensated for "loss of use of the vehicle" from the the day of accident until they cut the check ($15-$35 per day). Depending on what the buyback value is, the should cut you a check for about $1000-$1100. Then you can fix it however you want.
Question though. They are/did give me a rental (cuz Matt can't drive it) until Thursday. The adjuster is working with me regarding the totaling it out issue. Said that I have to show him what the car was worth on Monday before the accident. So I'm hoping to get a bit more out of it due to the fact of what was in it, suspension, fender flares, spacers, 2 week old tires, etc. Would they still give you the cost of loss of vehicle since they gave us a rental? In a sense they fixed that part.

This whole thing has pissed me off more ways then one. It was bad enough the ass called me 15 til 5 on Friday, then an "oh btw we're totaling it out". I'm having them fax me the estimate on Monday so I can see exactly what they are saying is $1800.

I will bring up the buy back and see what they say. I didn't even think that the only reason they were offering $1100 was because of the rebuilt title.
