I see your point but I dont believe it would be worth any cops time to pursue someone for a stock muffler. And even if someone is able to tell, if he passes the the sound tests at the DMV he should be ok?
You never know though.You might meet that one cop thats having a bad day/is a dickhead and they'll just look for a reason to make money off of you.
And the only way i can see a cop distinguishing the s2k muffler from a stock ef/eg/ek/dc/ep exhaust is the twin loop is if he gets under the car and actually looks.
But the chances of that happening are VERY VERY slim.
And i've never heard of any db tests at the dmv.
